techies having fun

Over on the google code site for chromium, they’re getting a bit silly:

Issue 54028 – chromium – Tims watch is broken – Project Hosting on Google Code.

My name is also Tim and I can confirm that my watch is functioning correctly, so we can rule out naming issues.

The original report is wrong: it is not 100% broken.

On closer inspection, I think you'll see that the watch clearly tells the right time twice a day.

Perhaps the watch is a Microsoft product - have you tried taking it off and putting it back on again?

I'd like to help troubleshoot this bug but I don't have a watch. Is there any way I can run Tim's Watch in a VM to try to recreate?

It's precisely this sort of attitude which is why Chromium will never be ready for the wrist-top.

Using Twitter to gauge the mood pulse of the US

An interesting study that uses twitter posts analyzed against a word list that shows the various moods of the US over time: Pulse of the Nation: U.S. Mood Throughout the Day inferred from Twitter. They show the various states in a map where the size of the state indicates the volume of tweets and colours indicate the various moods. Interesting depiction is that the West Coast is consistently happier than the rest of the county.

That’s not fair, I suppose. Glenn Beck’s files are all corrupted, not deleted.less than a minute ago via TweetDeck
