What’s the most delicious meal you’ve ever had?
I would have to say it was our celebration meal near the end of a business trip in Grenoble, France, put on for us by our host. This was during the Nuveau Beujelais season, which is Novemberish, so there were all sorts of autumn flavours and delicacies available. It was also my first introduction to the digestif Chartreuse. Great food, great drink, great colleagues, gracious host, French cooking and atmosphere all combined into one fantastic experience.
What’s the best place near you to get a drink?
For just a casual drink, I’d say Gallaghers. They have great food too.
What was your favorite toy to play with as a child?
My fluffy panda bear. We were inseparable.
Do you believe in ghosts?
That all depends on what one thinks ghosts are. If you’re talking about supernatural beings, then no. If you’re talking about fleeting memories of someone that you’ve known in the past, then yes.
What’s the longest you’ve ever gone without a bath or shower?
Oh gosh, two weeks, once, in the hospital. I was laid up with pancreatitis and had just undergone vericose vein surgery so my legs were all wrapped up. The surgeon finally came around to see me and released me from the wraps and first thing i did was hobble over to the shower with my IV stand and soak myself.
What exactly is formspring, again? It’s been so long..
Just a place to ask and answer questions publicly, reveal a little more about both the asker and the answerer.
What’s the worst show on TV?
Any number of reality tv shows would suffice here, but I think the real evil on television is actually the news. Nothing is reported in depth or with any consideration behind a newsbite. So much that is presented is sensationalized, not explained or questioned why it’s news. It’s just all about selling more soap, not informing people.
Who was the best teacher you’ve ever had?
This is hard — I’ve had many great teachers. I think I’d have to say the best was my high school physics teacher, Dr. Barber. who at the beginning of the year stood on his desk to demonstrate something. He also taught chemistry and that was fun when he made explosives! But I think his biggest influence was the way he respected me and listened to me.
If you had to cook dinner for someone tonight, what would you make?
Oh this is easy. I’m making my special Chicken Tetrazini!!
